Green energy startup Bulb approached my team at Neverbland to help them create a digital presence to rival the ‘Big Six’ energy companies. I designed the online platform to help them achieve their goal.

I designed a simple new switching process, an online bills and account management platform and a informative and approachable marketing site. Working with beautiful new branding and illustrations crafted by the team at Ragged Edge, I was able to shape the digital aesthetic for Bulb’s new platform with a heavy focus on the user experience.

The key to success was making the initial switching steps feel as seamless and enjoyable as possible. By crafting a step-by-step process with a simple user flow we allowed the process to be completed in just a couple of minutes.

Bulb’s main goal was to “make energy simple”. This was my aim throughout the design of the entire platform – make the experience as straightforward as possible. This aim also helped define the aesthetics for the site as we used large and clear typography, giant call-to-actions and a simple but bold colour palette.

Working with Chris is a delight — he completely understood our goals from the get go and designed a complex but extremely intuitive platform which we couldn’t be happier with. I’d highly recommend him, especially to design-led tech start-ups like Bulb. He was a pleasure to work with - fast, efficient and extremely creative.
